Given that the economic links between the US and the Eurozone are greater than most realize. <br /><br />The action taken by the US bank regulator FDIC to choose Spanish bank BBVA to absorb the assets of a significant US failed bank should be an alarm bell. It turns out that BBVA already had significant banking presence in the US. Could it be possible that the Spanish mortage debacle could result in significant losses to US financial regulatory agencies, through the conduit of BBVA or some other institution?
